Allisen Corpuz (Punahou) and Malia Nam (Kaiser) both qualified for the match play event at the 119th U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mass., on Tuesday.
Over the two-day stroke-play event, Corpuz shot a 3-under 141 (71-70) to finish three shots behind Jiarui Jin and Alexa Pano, who both totalled 138. Nam made the match-play cut by one stroke with her 3-over 147 (75-72).
The round of 64 begins today at 4:30 a.m. with coverage on Fox Sports 1 beginning at 10 a.m. Corpuz tees off at 5:30 a.m. against Sophie Guo, while Nam begins at 5:50 a.m. against Megan Schofill.
Hawaii golfers not making the cut for the match-play event of the Women’s Amateur were Allysha Mae Mateo (Maryknoll, 148), Mariel Galdiano (Punahou, 153), Alanis Sakuma (Island Pacific Academy, 161) and Lorraine Char (Kamehameha, 168).
