Hawaii residents like myself felt betrayed and shocked that one individual with such high status in law enforcement could bring devastating disaster to so many lives (“Kealohas guilty,” Star-Advertiser, June 28).
Could this disaster have been avoided? Of course! But greed, power and conspiracy are part of one’s desire to destroy anyone for selfish reasons. The jury’s verdict was a great relief, and it also restored my faith in our law enforcement officials and lawyers who brought this case to its final outcome. The web of lies and malice reached so many and unfortunately, more disasters are likely to come.
May peace be with the Puana ohana and those who supported them through everything they have endured.
The adjective “just” is defined as “acting in conformity with what is morally good.” We can all agree that this has not been good for anyone.
