Robert Dixon wrote that Republicans have no “soul,” but where was his outrage when Bashar Assad was gassing his people; North Korea was lobbing missiles in Hawaii’s direction; ISIS was slaughtering Syrians, Iraqis and Christians; or Russia was invading the Ukraine (“Profits under Trump come at high price: soul,” Star-Advertiser, Letters, June 20)?
Where is the other party’s compassion for our unemployed small-town masses when Mexico was stealing our jobs and charging an 18-185% value- added tax to imports from the U.S. and we were charging nothing; China was doubling costs of U.S.-produced cars and stealing our intellectual property; and NATO “allies” were paying less than 30% of the defense cost while giving their populations great benefits?
He conveniently forgets that we were energy-dependent on unstable socialist Venezuela and the Middle East; Iran was massively enriching uranium while promising not to under President Barack Obama; and the greenhouse gas agreement excluded India and China for years.
Where is his “soul”?
