Hawaiian Airlines celebrated Friday the renovation of its newly designed lobby at Maui’s Kahului Airport.
The lobby improvements include check-in kiosks set up a in “V-formation” to improve the flow of passengers; additional curbside kiosks to expedite curbside check-in; lighting that evokes a calming atmosphere; new ticket counters equipped with new computers, bag scales and bag drop areas; and updated lobby signage, including a new Hawaiian Airlines logo sign behind its ticket counters
Hawaiian adorned the space with culturally inspired patterns designed by Hawaii-based master tattooist Keone Nunes, who was at Friday morning’s blessing.
Hawaiian flight attendants to picket
Hawaiian Airlines flight attendants plan to picket Wednesday on the departures level at Terminal 1 at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport to protest their union contract negotiations with management for a new contract.
The Association of Flight Attendants represents 50,000 flight attendants across 20 airlines, including those at Hawaiian Airlines.

>> David DuRoss is the new business relationship manager for American Savings Bank and serves Molokai and Maui.
