If you think you have a photogenic pet with pin-up potential, consider entering the Hawaiian Humane Society’s 2020 Pets in Paradise calendar contest, open through June 30. The contest raises funds for more than 30 of the society’s programs and services.
The calendar contest is a celebration of all animals and the joy they bring to families and communities, said Christina Hunt, the society’s manager of philanthropy events and partnerships.
“Entering your beloved pet is a way to show off what makes them special to the world,” Hunt said.
The photo entrant with the most votes, which can be cast for a $1 donation per vote (but there is a minimum $5 donation — five votes), will receive prizes including a professional photography session and a Pet of the Month feature in the 2020 calendar. A panel of judges will select the 2020 calendar cover model.
“In the end, the donations we raise from the contest help Oahu’s animals, including those waiting for a new family to show them the love that they deserve,” Hunt said.
