I have been a resident of Puohala Village for 39 years.
The City Council soon will be considering a request to rezone flood-prone preservation land into a residential development near my home. It would be irresponsible and harmful to rezone an area known to flood.
The city has had sufficient notice that dangerous flooding occurs in the area. It was well known by lifelong residents that the foundation of those parcels are too moist to support homes. To prevent future harm to current residents and potential new owners, the city must not support the request to rezone preservation land in Puohala.
