Walmart said Tuesday it has hired 549 veterans in Hawaii and 226,000 vets overall since the retail chain’s Veterans Welcome Home Commitment began in 2013.
There are more than 4,000 Walmart employees in the state. In addition, Walmart recently prioritized hiring spouses of service members. To date, Walmart has hired nearly 6,000 military spouses companywide.

Hawaii Dental Service has announced the following promotions:
>> Pauline Sato- Paulino to manager of quality assurance from claims manager. Her 25 years at HDS also includes serving as claims auditor and dental relations educator, with additional experience as a dental assistant and dental laboratory technician.
>> Adelina Yim to finance and accounting manager from senior financial analyst. Yim’s 15 years of experience also includes being tax supervisor at N&K CPAs Inc.
>> IQ 360 has hired Jordan Ozaki, a recent graduate from the Shidler College of Business at University of Hawaii at Manoa with a master’s in business administration, as senior account coordinator for the firm’s Honolulu office. Ozaki’s experience also includes a corporate communications internship at Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corp. in Yokohama, Japan, and a marketing and business consulting internship in Fukuoka, Japan.
