Police now searching for driver of dark-colored Saturn in Waikiki hit-and-run
CrimeStoppers and Honolulu police are still seeking the public’s help in finding the driver of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian in front of the Waikiki Aquarium around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, but now have a different description of its make and model.
Instead of a white Toyota Tacoma truck, police are now searching for the driver of a dark-colored 2002 to 2005 Saturn Vue with faded grey plastic bumper trims and possible damages to the front, left bumper area.
Following an investigation, police determined the Tacoma truck was in the area at the time, but not involved in the collision.
The vehicle was traveling eastbound on Kalakaua Avenue when it hit the pedestrian and left the scene. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died.
