Traffic Advisory: Beretania, Alapai lanes to close for police remembrance walk
Temporary lane closures are scheduled on Beretania Street this evening as the Honolulu Police Department holds a remembrance walk from its Alapai Street headquarters to the state Capitol for a memorial service honoring fallen officers.
The lane closures are as follows:
>> At 5 p.m., two makai lanes of traffic on Beretania Street will be closed from Hale Makai Street to Alapai Street.
>> At 5:30 p.m., three makai lanes on Beretania Street will be closed from Ward Avenue to Richards Street.
>> At 5:30 p.m., Alapai Street between King and Beretania Streets will be closed, and traffic will be redirected at the intersection of Punchbowl and King Streets. Vehicles heading makai on Punchbowl Street toward the intersection will be required to turn right on Beretania Street. Vehicles on Punchbowl will not be allowed to go mauka between King and Beretania Streets.
Roads will progressively reopen once the participants have passed.

The walk and memorial are part of National Police Week 2019.
Motorists are advised of delays in the area and to take alternate routes.
