Home sales on Maui slumped last month by about 20%, according to trade association data released this week.
A report from the Realtors Association of Maui said the number of single-family home sales fell 17% to 76 in April from 92 in the same month last year, and the number of condominium sales sank 22% to 137 from 176 in the same period.
Median prices were mixed. Single-family homes sold for a median $819,500 last month, up 13% from $725,000 a year earlier. The condo median sale price dropped 13% to $440,000 from $506,113.
Maui’s trade association for real estate agents includes previously owned and new homes in its report.
The median price is a point at which half the homes sold for more and half for less.
