Are you still in need of a gift for that special mom in your life? You can never go wrong with made-from-the-heart art — especially from children! Art Explorium offers two kiddie craft workshops this weekend at its Kaimuki studio.
“These workshops provide an opportunity for keiki to create something all moms love: a unique and handmade gift just in time for Mother’s Day,” said Art Explorium executive director Heather Williams.
The Radial Print Mother’s Day Cards workshop Saturday will teach participants a method of printmaking that will transform a simple abstract design into a beautiful pattern that can be used to make Mother’s Day cards, Williams said. The Fuzzy Floral Fringe workshop Sunday will allow children to let their imaginations run wild as they create a one-of-a-kind fuzzy flowery bouquet.
“While keiki attend these classes, moms — or grandmas or aunties — can indulge in a mani/pedi or a decadent coffee or dessert in the Kaimuki neighborhood,” Williams suggested.
