The question within the Democratic Party about whether or not to start impeachment of the president is the wrong one. This is not the first step of this process. First, House Democrats need to start holding public hearings now, as was done with Watergate, to educate the public by allowing them to see and hear for themselves many of the players in the Russia investigation tell their stories of what happened. Most Americans will not read the Mueller report but they do watch TV.

Then, when and if articles of impeachment are to be filed, the American people will know why.
