Go to the annual ‘Iolani Fair for the exciting rides (Wave Swinger and Zero Gravity), linger for fun keiki activities (petting zoo and pony rides), then plant yourself for the yummy favorites (Huli Beef Sandwich and Okinawan Noodles) — Friday and Saturday at ‘Iolani School.
“Keiki Kountry, a special section for kids 5 and under, is always a hit,” said fair co-chair Doris Morisaki. “Also, don’t miss new savory and sweet food offerings like the Walking Taco (chips, chili, shredded cheese, jalapeno and sour cream served in the chip bag), Garlic Truffle Fries and Unicorn Puff Sundae (available at the malasada booth).”
There will also be live chef demonstrations, craft activities, farm-styled games and a marketplace with jams, baked goods, kim chee, handmade quilts and more.
“‘Iolani Fair offers something for the whole family,” said fair student co-chair Madison Kusumoto, an ‘Iolani 11th grader.
Proceeds from the fair will go toward student travel opportunities.
