Beth Chapman resting at home after emergency surgery

DENNIS ODA / JAN. 25

Beth Chapman, shown here at Da Kine Bail Bonds office at 1381 Queen Emma St. just before it closed in late January, is recovering at home from emergency lung surgery over the weekend.

Reality TV star Beth Chapman underwent an emergency procedure over the weekend and is home resting, according to her husband, Duane “Dog” Chapman.

“Beth was hospitalized Saturday due to an accumulation of fluid in her lungs,” a post on Duane Chapman’s Facebook page said Sunday.

Doctors performed an emergency procedure to alleviate the pressure that built up, according to the post titled “Chapman Family Statement”. “She and [husband Duane “Dog” Chapman] are grateful for the thoughts and prayers from their fans. Keep them coming.”

Beth Chapman, who starred with her husband in the Hawaii-based reality TV series “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” was diagnosed with throat cancer in September 2017.

Her family said she was cancer free after having had surgery, but in November announced that her cancer had returned.

Duane Chapman told Daily Mail TV of his 51-year-old wife’s battle with stage 4 lung cancer, “My baby has cancer and she is fighting like hell. I have cried over this because Beth is my everything.”

He said that the chemotherapy she underwent for throat cancer led her to spitting up blood and dropping down to 140 pounds and losing her hair. She opted for a different treatment that is easier on her body, the March 27 article said.

“Dog the Bounty Hunter” and “Dog & Beth: On the Hunt” were filmed throughout Hawaii, including in the Da Kine Bail Bonds office on Queen Emma Street. The office and storefront for the Dog the Bounty Hunter shop shut down at the end of January.
