Darren Corsilia, 28, turned himself in to police Wednesday night after an Oahu grand jury issued a $100,000 bench warrant for his arrest on two counts of first-degree sexual assault and five counts of third-degree sexual assault.

A 28-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl turned himself in to police Wednesday night.

Darren Corsilia turned himself in at the Honolulu Police Department’s main headquarters on Beretania Street after an Oahu grand jury issued a $100,000 bench warrant for his arrest on charges of two counts of first-degree sexual assault and five counts of third-degree sexual assault.

Police released him early today after he posted bail. Corsilia is expected to appear in court in the coming days.

Police said the victim told her parent on March 2 that an acquaintance sexually assaulted her multiple times. Police were called and conducted an investigation.

Four days later, the grand jury returned an indictment against Corsilia, charging him with multiple counts of sex assault.

Court documents show the assaults occurred between April and June 2017 when the girl was at least 14 years old and younger than 16.

Corsilia has no prior convictions.
