The recent gas tax proposals are an abomination and only look to further disadvantage west-side residents.
When the Pali Highway went down, it was amazing how quickly the state Department of Transportation worked to find a fix via the ongoing contra flow. West-side residents have been dealing with 1 1/2 hour-long-plus one-way commutes for years, and there is no fix in sight. Officials say the rail is going to pave the way for better drive times, but not only does it not go into Ewa Beach, it doesn’t even reach the farther west-side areas. If that’s the case, who was it even built for?
There is no love from the state or city for those of us out west and with every proposed bill and project it seems like they are looking to punish us more and more.
