Missing furlough inmate arrested in Waikiki

Police arrested a 35-year-old extended furlough inmate this evening in Waikiki, who failed to return to the YWCA Fernhurst work furlough home.

The Hawaii Department of Public Safety asked for the public’s help in locating Tiffany Ikeda was reported missing at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday. DPS officials said she was not authorized to leave the home.

Ikeda is serving a sentence for forgery, unauthorized possession of confidential personal information and auto theft. She now faces an escape charge, DPS officials said.

Inmates in the extended work furlough program live and work outside the prison.
