The University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine and University of Hawaii Cancer Center is hosting a panel on medical cannabis for cancer from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at 651 Ilalo St.
The conference will include experts in medical cannabis for cancer patients and answer legal questions on the use of the federally illicit drug.
The event is free to the public and health care professionals, but donations are welcome.

Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties has rehired Aaron Alpeter as an independent agent for its Diamond Head-Kahala office. Prior to rejoining the company, he served as a realtor associate for Elite Pacific Properties. Alpeter began his real estate career in 2005 and first joined Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties in 2012.
The Hawai‘i Convention Center has announced that Hans Lentz is its new executive chef. He has more than 30 years’ experience in culinary management, including recently serving as an executive chef at Jumeriah Hotels & Resorts in Dubai. Lentz also was an executive chef for Hilton Waikoloa Village for three years and worked at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, both on the Big Island.
Hawaii State Federal Credit Union has announced that Kimberly Weitzel is a financial adviser for Hawaii State Investment Services. She has more than 15 years of financial industry experience, including having recently served as a wealth adviser at First Hawaiian Advisors/Raymond James Financial Services. Prior to that she was a vice president and financial adviser for Bankoh Investment Services.
