Shame on the Star-Advertiser for burying in the back of the newspaper one of the more significant local and international news stories (“Students ‘strike’ to combat climate change,” Star-Advertiser, March 16).
Shame that only a handful of state legislators and public officials showed up in support of our youth. Shame that too few adults brought their bodies to encourage the brilliant young people who organized and attended this event.
Our youth are among our last great hopes for reversing the death spiral of life as we have known it for millions of years on planet Earth. They deserve our admiration, support and resources as they seek to educate and inspire us to combat the further destruction of our planet and way of life.
Adults, parents, grandparents: Heed the call of our youth to save our precious planet. Kokua now! For good planets are hard to find.
