Recreation is something we do that is healthy and helpful for us. Recreation builds friendship, mental abilities, muscular strength and endurance. Practicing to lower your golf score is recreation. Working to up your bowling score is recreation. Walking and chatting with friends is recreation that builds relationships. Reading good books, listening to music, gardening, even daydreaming is recreation that builds up our life. Recreation builds up our inner life as well as our physical and mental abilities.
Ingesting or inhaling a substance of unknown toxicity is not recreation. “Non-medical” is a more accurate and less misleading way to describe our current concerns with pot.
Please don’t call it “recreational.” Call it non-medical marijuana.
