Yes, your vote does matter
The April 13 special election face-off for the City Council’s District 4 seat stands as the latest shining example of why every ballot matters, as it addresses the aftermath of a contest that ended with two candidates separated by less than two dozen votes. The upcoming election was triggered by a Hawaii Supreme Court order that came in response to a legal challenge of results showing Council incumbent Trevor Ozawa winning in the Nov. 6 election by 22 votes over Tommy Waters, a former state representative. Online voter registration for District 4, which stretches from Hawaii Kai to Ala Moana, wraps up at 4:30 p.m. today. Visit olvr.hawaii.gov.
