Chaminade men’s basketball coach Eric Bovaird has agreed to a three-year contract extension through April 2023, director of athletics Bill Villa announced Friday.
Bovaird, who had one year remaining on his current contract, is in his eighth season as coach. He has compiled a 125-94 record with the Silverswords. Bovaird is the second-winningest coach in program history, trailing only Merv Lopes.
Gladstone awarded Ushijima Award
Art Gladstone, CEO of Straub Medical Center and Pali Momi Medical Center, will be presented with the Charlie Ushijima Award tonight during halftime of the University of Hawaii men’s basketball game against Cal State Northridge.
The award honors an outstanding volunteer for dedicated and unselfish service to the UH athletics department.
Gladstone is the president of the UH men’s basketball booster club and on the board of directors for Ahahui Koa Anuenue, UH’s fundraising organization.
