The University of Hawaii and New Mexico State football teams have extended their series by two games.
The agreement adds games Sept. 23, 2023, in Honolulu and Aug. 24, 2024, in Las Cruces, N.M.
Early last year, the schools announced games Sept. 5, 2020, in Honolulu and Sept. 25, 2021, in Las Cruces.
Hawaii and NMSU last played in 2011 while both were members of the Western Athletic Conference.
HPU softball sweeps Notre Dame de Namur
The Hawaii Pacific softball team swept a doubleheader against Notre Dame de Namur on Thursday at Sand Island Park.
In the first game, Alexis Morales pitched a three-hitter in a 10-1 five-inning victory.
Brandi Leong batted 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Noel Saunders also drove in two runs for the Sharks.
In the second game, Jordan Curry pitched a five-hitter with seven strikeouts in HPU’s 8-1 win.
The Sharks improved to 12-8, 6-0 PacWest, while the Argonauts fell to 0-13, 0-8.
Silverswords men beat Argonauts
Grant Dressler scored 19 points and Tyler Cartaino added 17 as the Chaminade men’s basketball team defeated Notre Dame de Namur 84-67 on Thursday at McCabe Gym.
The Silverswords improved to 21-6, 15-6 PacWest.
RJ Louis scored 21 points for the Argonauts (1-25, 1-19).

The Silverswords (6-19, 5-16 PacWest), who trailed by 11 early in the third quarter, tied the game 57-57 on Castro’s free throw with 1:46 remaining.
Jordan Rodriguez finished with 15 points for the Argonauts (9-16, 8-13).
UHH’s Kinoshita wins weekly golf honor
Hawaii Hilo senior Jared Kinoshita was named the PacWest men’s golfer of the week, the conference announced Thursday.
Kinoshita, of Bakersfield, Calif., placed 13th after carding a 3-over-par 219 at the Bay Area Invitational, which ended Tuesday.
He has won the weekly conference award three times this season.
Hawaii Hilo baseball team beats Biola
Kyle Yamada and Casey Yamauchi each drove in two runs as the Hawaii Hilo baseball team beat Biola 7-4 on Thursday at Francis Wong Stadium.
The Vulcans improved to 4-6, while the Eagles fell to 4-6.
