Finally, somebody is stepping in and trying honestly to find out why our rail transit project has doubled in cost and time to build (“Third HART subpoena seeks minutes of closed meetings,” Star-Advertiser, Feb. 17).
You just don’t double the cost from $5 billion to about $10 billion in less than five years. We have become a state of sheep that has let the politicians and developers just do as they please with the building of Honolulu, including Kakaako.
They think the people don’t see it. But the sad thing is we are letting them have their way, with no real opposition to their disregard to our land and lifestyle. It is so frustrating to see what is going on.
We do have a chance to vote them out, but sadly we blindly elect anybody from the Democratic Party to office and we do it continuously. We need real honest and concerned people to run for office to plan and build our island the way it should be, and not be governed by greed and politics.
