Two losses led to a one-spot drop in the national rankings for the Hawaii beach volleyball team.
The Rainbow Wahine (2-2), preseason No. 5, were at No. 6 in Monday’s AVCA Coaches Top 20. UCLA (5-0), which won last weekend’s Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Classic at Queen’s Beach, was the unanimous top pick, followed by USC (0-0).

Among other Big West teams, Cal Poly (3-3) dropped one place to No. 7 and Long Beach State (9-0) remained at No. 8. Hawaii travels next week to the East Meets West Classic at Manhattan Beach, Calif., where the SandBows will face No. 4 LSU, No. 5 Florida State and No. 9 Florida International (4-0), as well as unranked TCU (2-2).
