Considering a legislative session already flush with mountains of bans, I’d like to propose a more effective mindset of “I can.”
Here are some examples: I can look for pedestrians before I turn right on red. I can recycle. I can pay attention as I walk across a street. I can use reusable bags for shopping. I can drive slowly in neighborhoods. I can provide my customers with better disposable containers. I can pick up my dog’s mess.
You get the idea. Together we can do more than these proposed bans will ever do. I urge our great island ohana to pick up its bootstraps and do what is right so that our real rights aren’t diminished further. Please tell your mayor and Council member to do the same.
