Celebrate the beloved ukulele at the 11th annual ‘Ukulele Picnic in Hawai‘i, a free music festival Sunday at Victoria Ward Park in Ward Village.
“This year we are excited to have another all-star lineup of performers from here in Hawaii and Japan playing on two stages,” said Kazuyuki Sekiguchi, ‘Ukulele Picnic in Hawai‘i creator and producer.
Performers include Sekiguchi, who is from Japan, Kapena, Josh Tatofi, Bryan Tolentino, Kamakakehau Fernandez, Bryan Kessler, Natalie Ai Kamauu, Ku‘uipo Kumukahi and Japan’s Seiji Katz.
“This is a great family event,” Sekiguchi said. “In between enjoying music from your favorite performers you can explore the more than 30 different vendors offering Hawaiian crafts, international food and drinks, activities for kids, a luxury ukulele raffle and more.”
All funds raised from the event, which is hosted by the ‘Ukulele Foundation of Hawai’i, will benefit the development of the ‘Ukulele Museum in Kakaako.
