Our elected officials should not be allowed to have their cake and eat it too. They should not be allowed to act and behave like spoiled brats, committing acts that turn the household (our country) upside down, just because they do not get what they want or get their way.
Compromise in politics has become a lost art. Respect for the people that politicians serve has become nothing but fodder in the high-stakes money and power game.
Investors would never buy into a business knowing that the CEO had the power to shut down the business unilaterally at will. And such a CEO in the business world does not exist.
Think about that reality. Why should our government be structured any differently?
It is time to have a law that makes shutting down the government illegal.
