Sheriff deputies on Wednesday captured a 36-year-old fugitive with 21 prior convictions who was wanted on a no-bail warrant for violating the terms of his parole.
A tip led authorities to Jacob Hoopai, who was found at about 8 a.m. in a vehicle in Haleiwa, the Department of Public Safety said in a news release. A 29-year-old woman who was with him was arrested on suspicion of hindering prosecution and for outstanding warrants.
Hoopai was serving time for first-degree burglary.
