Lyft is offering discounted rides on Saturday to the Hawaii Foodbank’s Mapunapuna warehouse in support of its holiday food drive’s community drop-off day.

From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Lyft passengers can use the promo code “HOLIDAYDRIVE” to receive $20 off their ride to and from Hawaii Foodbank to drop off donations.

“Lyft Hawaii is thrilled to have the opportunity to utilize our rides this holiday season to offer support to families in need,” said Rob Mora, Hawaii market manager for Lyft in a news release. “We can’t imagine a better place to be this holiday season than helping those at Hawaii Foodbank.”

To participate, riders must download the Lyft app and provide a minimum of two grocery bags worth of food donations to drop off at Hawaii Foodbank.

Upon arrival at the Mapunapuna warehouse, riders who drop off their donations can have their picture taken with Santa Claus before returning home. The promo code is also valid for donors who wish to send donations to the warehouse without an accompanying rider.

“We cannot thank Lyft enough for their donation of time, resources and staff during our Holiday Food Drive,” said Ron Mizutani, CEO of Hawaii Foodbank in a statement. “Lyft’s services will help streamline donation drop-offs to our warehouse and further expand our mission across Oahu. We deeply encourage community members to join us in ensuring that no keiki, kupuna or island resident goes hungry during holidays.”
