Man charged for Makiki auto theft

Prosecutors have charged a 41-year-old man for allegedly stealing items from a vehicle in Makiki.

Kaluna Morgan was charged Wednesday with unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle in the first degree. His bail is set at $100,000.

Police said a suspect later identified as Morgan broke into a vehicle owned by a 29-year-old woman and stole items at approximately 1:05 p.m. on Dec. 8.

Police located him in McCully Monday and arrested him on suspicion of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and criminal contempt of court.

Morgan has a criminal record of 34 convictions that include 25 felony convictions for theft, identity theft, forgery, fraudulent use of a credit card, promoting a dangerous drug, drug paraphernalia, unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and burglary.
