KITV4’s Segundo leaving station for Sacramento TV posts
Jordan Segundo will be leaving KITV4 next month for a pair of new positions with a Sacramento-based media duopoly owned and operated by CBS Corp.
Segundo, weekend morning anchor and weekday weather anchor on Good Morning Hawaii, will serve as CBS13 weather anchor for KOVR-TV and Good Day Sacramento anchor and reporter for KMAX-TV.
His last day at KITV4 will be Jan. 6. He’ll starts his new job at CBS13 on Jan. 9.
In a release issued today, the Farrington High School and University of Hawaii at Manoa alumnus expressed appreciation for his home state.
“Growing up in Hawaii has shaped me into the individual that I am today,” he said. “Hawaii will always have a special place in my heart; it will always be my home. I am grateful to the people of Hawaii for all of their support throughout the years. I am excited for this next step in my journey, and I look forward to sharing my Hawaii values and the spirit of Aloha with the people of Sacramento and wherever I may go in my career.”
Segundo rose to local and national prominence in 2003 when he became the first Hawaii finalist on “American Idol.” He later served as a commentator for “American Idol” for KHON2, FOX VIP correspondent and host of “Living808.”
