I believe in the right of law-abiding citizens to armed self defense. Some believe that there are no law-abiding citizens.
Sadly, that reflects the attitude of the Legislature and the governor: Every citizen is a murderer in waiting. This attitude tars everyone with “guilty until proven innocent.” No one is to be trusted and there is no legitimate armed self-defense against a violent attack.
Under that thinking, criminals have the edge. Criminals can walk around armed. The law-abiding may not.
Government has power to take away rights by writing laws, some of which are unconstitutional. Logically, the solution is to convict everyone before the crime because the nature of man is evil. The untrusting person projects his distrust of his own nature on everyone else. If he chooses to be unable to defend himself, so be it.
We have a shortage of 257 police officers as of April 2018, according to the chief of police. The police will not be there to defend us.
