Rainbow Wahine volleyball sweeps UC Irvine

Senior hitter Casey Castillo put down a season-high 14 kills and Hawaii swept UC Irvine 25-19, 27-25, 25-16 in a Big West volleyball match tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Senior libero Tita Akiu added 15 digs, surpassing 400 for her career for the Rainbow Wahine (17-8, 13-2), who ran their record to 40-0 against the Anteaters (16-12, 10-6). Hawaii concludes the regular season hosting UC Davis (16-11, 8-7) at 7 p.m. Friday.
Senior setter Faith Ma’afala had 19 assists to surpass 700 and senior hitter McKenna Granato added 12 digs. Junior setter-hitter Norene Iosia added a double-double with 17 assists and 10 digs.
