Snoop Dogg and Cardi B to perform at Aloha Stadium
With Hawaii’s own Bruno Mars in the midst of a record-breaking, three-night engagement at Aloha Stadium, two of his former collaborators are about to follow him with a gig at the venue.
Legendary rapper Snoop Dogg and Cardi B, one of hip-hop’s hottest young stars, are slated to perform at the stadium at 7 p.m. on Dec. 27, along with the rock band Sublime with Rome, which shares Snoop’s Long Beach roots.
Tickets will go on sale at Ticketmaster.com and the Aloha Stadium Box Office at 10 a.m. on Nov. 16. They will range in price from $49 to $299.
Snoop Dogg — who had a hit with “Young Wild & Free” with the help of Bruno Mars and Wiz Khalifa — rose to fame in 1992 under the guidance of Dr. Dre with his laidback flow on their collaboration “Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang.” But his three No. 1 hits have all come in the 2000s, one as the main artist — “Drop It Like It’s Hot” featuring Pharrell — as well as features on Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” and Akon’s “I Wanna Love You.”
Snoop recently branched out into TV, co-hosting “Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party” with homemaking icon Martha Stewart and emceeing the reboot of the game show “The Joker’s Wild.”
Cardi B, who rapped on the remix of Mars’ “Finesse” this year, has only been around for a couple of years but has already matched Snoop’s three chart-toppers with “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves),” “I Like It” featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin and a feature on Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You.”

Sublime with Rome is the revival of 1990s ska-punk band Sublime, which paced Billboard’s Modern Rock chart in 1996 with “What I Got” after lead singer Bradley Nowell had died of a heroin overdose. The eponymous album it came from spawned a few more hits — most notably “Santeria” and “Wrong Way” — and sold more than 5 million copies, but the band decided to call it quits.
The band relaunched under its new name in 2009 with new lead singer Rome Ramirez.
