In the Bible, Jesus Christ exhibits genuine empathy, compassion and care for the suffering and less fortunate.
Estimates are that 75 percent of Americans and 85 percent of the members of Congress identify themselves as Christians. But how many are genuine Christians, and how many are just hypocrites?
What about the war-torn, sick and starving people of Yemen; Palestinian crises; aftermath of hurricanes in Puerto Rico and Northern Marianas; and refugees from violence immigrating for asylum from Central America to the U.S.?
