Kaneohe Bible college student charged with sex assault of girl, 14, enters plea
A 21-year-old Bible college student and school janitor pleaded not guilty to multiple charges of sexual assault involving a 14-year-old girl.
Shawn O’Regan appeared at his arraignment before Judge Clarence Pacarro via closed-circuit video link from the Oahu Community Correctional Center Thursday on charges of two counts of first-degree sexual assault involving a person who is at least 14 years old and younger than 16 years old, four counts of third-degree sexual assault and two counts of promoting pornography for minors.
Deputy Public Defender Crystal Glendon entered a not guilty plea to the charges.
Pacarro set his trial for December. O’Regan requested supervised released during the arraignment but Pacarro denied the request.
O’Regan is in custody at the correctional facility in lieu of $300,000 bail.
The alleged assaults occurred in the janitor’s closet at the Koolau Baptist Church & Academy during the school’s Fun Fair 2018 event.

Court documents said the victim’s mother discovered text messages later that night on her daughter’s tablet that contained nude photos sent by and of O’Regan to the girl. The mother also found nude photos on the tablet of the victim sent to O’Regan and messages from him repeatedly asking the girl to send images of herself.
O’Regan resided in a dorm on campus where he is enrolled in a work-study program at the affiliated Hawaii Baptist College . He conducted janitorial work on the property in exchange for rent.
