Donald Trump has reaped huge profits since he launched his bid for the presidency. His Washington, D.C., hotel is at the center of an ethical breach. Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort reported $15 million in profits in 2015, jumping to about $30 million in 2016 and about $37 million in a later report.
These are just a few examples of Trump using his presidency to make money in violation of the U.S. Constitution.
Congress is supposed to stop Trump from this, but it appears a quid pro quo exists between congressional conservatives and Trump, as he helps them with tax cuts for the rich and deregulation that allows corporations to pollute the environment.
This November you can vote in new members of Congress who will follow the Constitution and stop Trump from using the presidency to profit. Or you can bill Trump for using your government infrastructure for his profit.
