The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office has identified a 73-year-old man who died after being struck by a pickup truck in the Liliha area as Robert T. Yoshimoto of Honolulu.

Police said a pedestrian later identified as Yoshimoto was walking across the roadway in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of North Kuakini and Liliha streets when he was struck by the vehicle at approximately 7:53 a.m. Sunday.

He was taken to Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition where he later died.

Police said speed, alcohol or drugs were not factors in the crash.

This is the 56th traffic-related fatality and the 26th pedestrian fatality on Oahu.

Statewide, Yoshimoto’s death is the 98 traffic-related fatality and the 34th pedestrian fatality.
