I am 87 years old and have lived in Kalama Valley for some 20 years. I was bothered by the fact that our street was missing a street sign for all those years.
It seemed that no one else cared as long as the mailman knew our street. Also, with today’s GPS systems, most people don’t care, but some of my friends have had difficulty finding our street.
I finally asked my state representative, Gene Ward, to please have our street sign restored. Wow! He got it done stat — and not only my street. I noticed a brand-new sign on another street that had lost one also.
A politician thinks of the next election; a statesman thinks of the next generation.
