Hawaii’s road split last week had the Rainbow Wahine move up 30 spots in Monday’s NCAA women’s volleyball Ratings Percentage Index.
Hawaii (9-6, 5-1 Big West) went from a program-low 100 to 70 in the computer-generated ratings used by the NCAA tournament selection committee for postseason bids and seeding. The only Big West teams ahead of the Wahine in the RPI were Cal Poly (16-1, 6-0), which defeated Hawaii in four sets on Saturday, and UC Irvine (10-7, 4-1), which Hawaii beat in five on Sept. 23.
Stanford (14-1) and BYU (16-0) remained 1-2 in the RPI. The order stayed reversed in the AVCA Coaches Top 25, with the Cougars at No. 1 with 60 first-place votes, and the Cardinal at No. 2 with the other four votes.
Cal Poly, whose lone match last week was against Hawaii, moved up one spot to No. 12. The only other of the Wahine’s opponents that remained ranked was Oregon. The Ducks (11-5) moved up six places to No. 14.
