Prosecutors have charged a 31-year-old man in connection with an attempted game room robbery that resulted in the shooting death of another man.
Robin D. Paakaula was charged Monday with first-degree robbery and promoting a dangerous drug in the third-degree. His bail is set at $100,000.
Charges are pending for the alleged shooter, Manu K. Sorensen, 28, who police arrested Monday in Hauula on suspicion of second-degree murder.
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Jacob N. Feliciano, 31, of Waipahu. He died of a gunshot wound to his torso.
Police said two male suspects later identified as Paakaula and Sorensen attempted to rob a game room at the 1700 block of Kapiolani Boulevard at approximately 10:50 p.m. Saturday.
Police said Sorensen allegedly shot Feliciano and fled the scene.
Feliciano was taken in
critical condition to an area hospital where he died.
Police arrested Paakaula that night on suspicion of robbery and promoting a dangerous drug. Court documents said he was in possession of methamphetamine.
