Las Vegas getting second Taco Bell Cantina
A second Taco Bell Cantina is coming to Las Vegas. Following the city’s first on the south end of the Strip, the new Cantina will be located downtown.
The two-story 6,000-square-foot restaurant will occupy the space that was formerly the El Portal Theatre, with plans to blend the historic El Portal sign into the design. Like its predecessor, the downtown Cantina is expected to operate 24/7 and serve alcohol. It’s scheduled to open in 2019.
Chick-fil-A on the Strip: A Chick-fil-A is planned for Planet Hollywood, the first at a casino location. The opening date has not been announced, but this will be the sixth Chick-fil-A in Vegas. True to the chain’s policy, this location will be closed on Sundays.
Celine’s exit: Celine Dion has announced the final show in her second residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace will be June 8. Dion’s residency has spanned 15 years, logging 1,089 shows; audiences numbers total 4.5 million.
Dolphin named: The dolphin born last month at the Mirage’s Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat has been named Karli. It’s a nod to four of Las Vegas’ sports teams — Knights, Aces, Rebels, and Lights, with the “I” thrown in ’cause it’s a girl.

Answer: Yes, at least for a while. Las Vegas is holding onto its claim of having the world’s tallest observation wheel with the 550-foot-tall High Roller. Plans for a 689-foot wheel in Dubai and a 625-foot wheel in New York City have both stalled.
