A 68-year-old man has died after he was found unresponsive in waters off Makua Beach on Saturday, authorities said Sunday.
Police said that the man was found unresponsive at about 11:15 a..m.
Emergency Medical Services said he was with a tour group on a boat. Paramedics administered advanced life-saving treatment on shore. EMS transported him in critical condition to a nearby hospital where he later died. Identification of the man is pending, police said.
Bodyboarder in critical condition
City Emergency Medical Services’ paramedics transported a bodyboarder to a hospital in critical condition Sunday after he was found unresponsive in waters at Makapuu Beach.
Lifeguards brought the 52-year-old Oahu man to shore at about 2 p.m.
The man regained a pulse after lifeguards administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation, according to Shayne Enright, EMS spokeswoman. EMS treated the man and took him by ambulance to a hospital.
Body found in Diamond Head area
Honolulu police are investigating an unattended death case involving a body of a male found in the Diamond Head area Saturday.
Police said the male was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene at 6 p.m. Saturday.
Police declined to specify the exact location where the body was found due to the investigation. It is unknown whether foul play was involved. An autopsy is expected.
