Police seek suspect who attempted to kidnap girl in Kapolei

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a male suspect who is wanted for attempting to kidnap a girl in Kapolei on Wednesday.

Police said at about 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, the girl was walking home on Roosevelt Avenue in the area of Coral Crater Adventure Park when the man, who was driving a silver pickup truck, stopped and offered her a ride.

The girl refused, and he pulled his truck onto the shoulder of the roadway, and tried to force her into the truck, police said.

She struggled and managed to get away, police said.

The male suspect is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing about 140 to 160 pounds, with short black hair, a dark complexion, wearing a fluorescent green shirt and jeans.
