Police identify Pearl City man, 72, as victim of motorcycle crash in Kailua
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office has identified a 72-year-old man who died in a motorcycle crash in Kailua as Jaime A. Garcia of Pearl City.
A determination of the cause of death is pending an autopsy report.
Police said the man was traveling Kaneohe-bound on Kalanianaole Highway on a motorcycle when he lost control near Ulupii Street at about 11:35 a.m. Friday. He was thrown onto the roadway from his bike. Police said another motorcycle traveling in the same lane struck him.
Emergency Medical Services treated and transported Garcia in critical condition to a hospital where he died.
Neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the crash.
