I don’t understand the importance of keeping immigrants out of the United States. Aren’t they the ones who take the jobs that U.S. citizens prefer not to do? Who will work on the farms and do other work that requires low-paid physical labor?
The president wants to build a wall to keep our neighbors from entering the U.S. It will be cost-prohibitive and it probably won’t keep them out. It also impedes U.S. employers from hiring low-paid manual laborers and results in higher employer payroll costs, which raise the prices we all pay for goods and services.
Many immigrant families are looking for a better life. Instead of being welcomed, parents are separated from their children and the families are deported. Can’t our legislators come up with a win-win solution that allows immigrant families to have a better life here and also supply the labor market with more workers?
