To prepare for Hurricane Lane, I stood in line in the Ewa Beach Longs Drugs store to pick up a case of water and a few other things.
I went to the water shelves, where a woman was loading her shopping cart. She took 11 cases, leaving the shelf empty. I asked if I could have a case. She said no, and left with her stash.
I went to the cashier, who said what was on the shelves was all they had.
I believe the stores should limit all the needed supplies, so much per customer, so people like me wouldn’t go home empty- handed. Also, stores should not refund the hoarders when they try to return the items.
The stores and hoarders showed no aloha to the residents of Hawaii. Shame, shame to all the hoarders, and to the stores for not limiting these necessary supplies.
Thank you for letting me vent. This happens all the time.
