Ainahau Vista II, a senior affordable-housing development in Waikiki, is seeking senior applicants for its rental units.
The Ainahau Vista II project is intended for low-income seniors ages 55 or older. The 62-unit complex at 2428 Tusitala St. includes 47 one-bedroom, one-bathroom units and 15 studio apartments. Three of the units are handicap-accessible. To qualify, seniors must have annual incomes of 50 percent or less of the Honolulu median income, or approximately $40,850 for one person or $46,650 for two people.
Each unit is partially furnished with a range/oven, refrigerator/freezer and garbage disposal. Water, electricity and sewer costs are included in the monthly rent. Tenants must pay their own cable and phone bills.
Other amenities include a community room for recreational and educational activities, a coin-operated laundry room and an on-property resident manager. Smoking is prohibited throughout the project, and pets are not allowed.
The project is a joint effort between Ainahau Vista II LP and the Hawaii Housing Development Corp. A blessing was held in April for the recently opened complex.
Prospective tenants must have good landlord references. Call the on-site office at 926-6700 or go to locationsrentals.com.
