All lanes of Likelike Highway were reopened Tuesday morning after state Department of Transportation crews cleared debris from multiple landslides.
The DOT had advised motorists to use the H-3 or Pali Highway while the Likelike was closed.
Police had reported that debris and flooding had blocked the Honolulu-bound lanes of the Likelike between Valley View Drive and Nalanieha Street at 4:14 a.m. Tuesday.
A landslide on the Honolulu-bound lanes of Pali Highway on the morning of Aug. 13 had damaged four vehicles and closed the road to traffic for several hours.
No tsunami threat from earthquake
There is no tsunami threat to Hawaii following a 7.1-magnitude earthquake Tuesday southeast of the Loyalty Islands, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
The earthquake was reported at 5:52 p.m. Hawaii time.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the magnitude-7.1 quake hit 143 miles east of Tadine in the Loyalty Islands, New Caledonia. There were no immediate reports of death or injury.
